The Wind Tunnel
a series of illustrated ceramic slabs of a man struggling to gain control of his umbrella in the middle of a big storm in an area where strong wind often travels.
utilizing a series of paper transfer techniques and I attempted to add abstracted and obscured forms to portray intense movement.
Below is an attached gif of another considered movement of the man struggling in the wind.
Process Work:
Below is a portion of my sketchbook. This is where I tested a series of figure drawing techniques to see which method of drawing evoked motion the strongest. This was done in order to create an illustrative series of a man falling by battling the chaotic wind flowing through the city. I decided to work with drawing number ‘2’ because charcoal portrayed movement in a very delicate and grungy manner. This was perfect for scanning and paper transfering onto ceramic material.
